The focus areas for this this role will be to:
As a Principal Consultant, you will lead client engagements, develop sustainability and climate change strategies, and mentor junior team members. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to advancing sustainable practices. You will work closely with clients to identify opportunities for improvement, lead complex sustainability projects, and contribute to business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and successful project delivery.
Strategy Development: Design and implement sustainability strategies, roadmaps, and action plans that align with clients’ goals and industry standards.
Project Management: Oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful execution, maintaining high standards and achieving client satisfaction.
Technical Expertise: Provide insights on sustainability topics such as ESG strategy, goal setting, roadmap development, implementation support, reporting and disclosures, ESG ratings improvement. Understanding of global and India reporting frameworks and standards is a must.
Business Development: Support the growth of the firm by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to proposals and presentations.
Team Development: Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry publications, present at conferences, and represent the firm in public forums to enhance our visibility and reputation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 10-12 years in sustainability consulting or a related field, with a proven record of managing complex client projects.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of corporate sustainability strategies and frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, BRSR, CDP, TCFD, SBTi).
Understanding and experience with net zero and decarbonization strategies and implementation will be an added value
In depth experience and understanding on ESG rating and value chain due diligence and monitoring
Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Demonstrated experience in business development and client relationship management.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team mentorship and development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
