**Job Description**
Join the dynamic BAE Systems Combat Missions Systems (CMS) Contracts team and be apart of a world class contracting team to support the Paladin Program, the primary indirect fire support system for the Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT). This multi-billion-dollar program is a vital technology enhancement program to maintain the combat capability of the Army s ABCT.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading a diverse cross functional team through the strategic Paladin production captures. The position will require the ability to strategically plan, negotiate and execute the aforementioned proposal. This position may require additional duties such as providing surge support for the Paladin, execute special projects for the betterment of the CMS Contracts function, and/or additional duties as assigned.
As a Principal Contract Administrator, you will:
Utilize your proficient understanding of the US Government Acquisition and Procurement process, the BAE Systems Contracts function, and relevant Company policies and procedures, FAR/DFARS, commercial contracting methods and other government regulations to guide and influence the IPT yielding positive/effective business results.
Implement strategies to advance critical business objectives.
Provide guidance to develop overarching negotiation strategies and objectives, and takes action necessary to resolve any impasses between BAE Systems and its customers.
Develop solutions to complex contracting and business issues, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensure solutions are consistent with organization strategic and operational objectives.
Provide expertise, guidance, training, and leadership to support cross-functional business team members. Lead discussions and/or briefings with various leadership and other key personnel, participate in complex negotiations, and develop contract management strategies to mitigate risk. Ensure efficient and effective flow of information among Contracting team, leadership team, cross-functional teams, and/or customer(s) as needed.
Provide direction to team members to address and influence major contractual and business issues encountered in the proposal and execution of contracts of all types and complexity.
Train, motivate and assist cross functional team members to practice effective scope control strategies to enable early identification of constructive changes that may provide BAE Systems opportunities for equitable adjustments.
Interface with key government contracting and procurement officials as required and/or needed.
Lead, manage and execute all facets of proposal development including, but not limited, (1) proposal planning, (2) proposal development, (3) color team reviews, (4) fact finding, (5) negotiations, (6) contract finalization.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.
This position has a 9/80 scheduled where you will have every other Friday off
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor s degree and 6 years of relevant Contract Management experience or equivalent experience.
+ Major defense article acquisition and production contracting experience.
+ Proven business negotiator while exercising sound business judgement with experience engaging at high organizational levels or with persons of influence both internally and externally.
+ Excellent writing skills is a must, with the ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures.
+ Ability to effect and manage change (both organizational and contractual).
+ Cost type and Fixed Price Contract experience
+ Expert knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations
+ Experience with complex contracts and proposal preparation and execution.
+ Ability to interact professionally and effectively at all levels of the organization.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and stay organized.
+ Highly developed critical thinking and communication skills with ability to influence and shape favorable business outcomes.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, solicitations/RFPs, or governmental regulations.
+ Strong business acumen and experienced in risk management.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ 2 years Cost Type and/or Fixed Price Contract experience
+ Experience in vehicle manufacturing.
+ Certification as CFCM or CPCM (NCMA) or CCM (IACCM) desirable
+ Master s Degree/MBA/JD a plus
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $96470 - $164010
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
