What you'll be doing

Responsible for engineering support for the plant production departments and facilities. Principal engineer provides technical resources and expertise along with project management skills.

Provide engineering to all assigned projects through design, development, installation, validation, and ongoing support.

Manage numerous projects at the same time

Interact with plant functions, including EHS, operations, maintenance, and quality personnel.

Oversee the installation and start-up of new equipment and systems.

Responsible for time estimates and budgets for all capital improvement projects.

Act as technical resource to assist in plant process improvements.

Manage technical resources in the implementation of plant projects

Responsible as project leader for insuring compliance to GMP/QSR, ISO9000 and ISO 13485 in all projects.

Provide support of continuous improvement projects to meet Safety, Quality, and Operational goals.

Provide technical support to PDP /design change projects, as needed.

Provide expertise for Lean Enterprise implementation.

What you'll bring

BS in Engineering and 5-8 years of relevant experience. 

Creative, highly motivated, dependable professional with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for engineering and technology

Must be a dedicated and reliable hands-on professional who has the capability to excel in self-directed and team environments to meet the customer needs and requirements

Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and support manufacturing machinery

Proficient written and verbal communication skills

CAD design experience preferred

For Electrical Engineering candidates:

Proficient with PLC programming and control systems design (Examples: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Contron Technology Inc (CTI), Automation Direct, Profibus, and Device Net,) developing standard modules and extensive custom code. Good understanding of PID control systems.

For Mechanical Engineering candidates:

Knowledge of CAD design and ability to use either SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor software to create conceptual designs and communicate with fabrication shops.

Physical / Safety Requirements

Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends

Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required

Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
