About the Role
Principal Cost and Sustainability Engineer work to achieve the profitability, sustainability and growth goals defined by the leadership strategy through a cross-functional collaborative environment with Procurement, Engineering, Customer Account Management, Manufacturing and Suppliers.

This position will report to the Cost & Sustainability Engineering Lead and will be an individual contributor role with no direct or indirect reports.
What You Will Do

Bachelor’s degree in engineeringMinimum 10 years work experience in the following areas:For Mechanical:Cost engineering of Mechanical components and systemsVA/VE of (E)/mechanical components and systemsEngineering automotive (E)/mechanical componentsAutomotive procurementAdvanced manufacturing engineeringExperience with factors impacting design for CO2e improvementExperience with complex components, modules, assembliesProven technical leadership with demonstrated ability to lead and review the work of other cost engineersDemonstrated ability to solve complex technical topics through structure solutions. Must be able to influence others to drive alignment on proposed technical solutions.Demonstrated ability to breakdown component costs into the constituent costsExcellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to effectively present complex technical topicsExperience working in a fast paced, highly measured, results focused environmentProven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with all levels of a global organizationLeading role in cross-functional teams to achieve financial and/or transformational targetsFluency in EnglishWhat is Nice to Have
Master’s degree in engineeringMinimum 3 years work experience in developing costs models for component, modules, assembliesExperience with automotive electronic systems is highly desirable, including experience selecting and/or recommending automotive grade componentsDemonstrated ability to share knowledge and best practices with teammatesChange Orientation: Able to adapt to changing demands and conditionsWhat Makes You Eligible
