Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Data Analyst/Data Engineer with a passion for data and data visualization to help create a centralized database to analyze quality and regulatory product data in finding actionable trends. This role will include statistical process control, capability analysis, data analysis and data visualization responsibilities.  Data modeling and creating dashboards, utilize data to make visual tools, and ensure accurate data in a way to facilitate data analytics to enable compliance intelligence across Olympus.  

Job Duties Navigate large complex datasets to produce descriptive analysis, correlations, and insights. Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and innovation around data visualization. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals and priorities, and the role data plays in achieving them. Identify gaps in existing data collections and proactively work to fill them. Present analyses and recommendations to cross functional stakeholders for decision making in presentation. Analyze data and present data through reports that aid decision-making. Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality. Understanding what our customers need to create visual outputs, help the data engineers onsite understand what needs to be done to get from data collection to visual output. Data modeling and creating dashboards, wrangle data to make visual tools, and clean data in a way to facilitate data analytics. Tracks, trends, and analyze data from requests and responses to internal and external audits as well as quality and post-market data to effectively analyze current state of compliance across the organization.  ,. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified as part of cross functional team. Participates in the implementation of Global Customer Quality initiatives and programs throughout the Global organization, as required. Provide input into KPIs and Metrics that will enhance data analysis and reporting.  Understands PowerBI to convert business requirements into technical specificities  Partner with Information Technology (IT), Power BI architects, and the global KPI team to develop detailed BI dashboard. Participate in change management activities to resolve data quality and process issues. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.   Job Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering discipline, or equivalent. Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience in a medical device, pharma, or other regulated industry. Experience with business intelligence tools and techniques. Competent with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Visio, Adobe, DocuSign, Agile, Power Ap, Smartsheet, SalesForce and Windows platforms. Experience with Python and/or R programming and data science tools. Familiarity with statistical methods data mining techniques, and basic machine learning concepts. Working knowledge in Statistical Process Control, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R analysis. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL, Excel, and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Minitab). Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with multiple regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC, China & Japan) / company locations. Since this is a Global Role, the individual will be expected to schedule meetings that accommodate multiple time zones. Interpersonal skills to develop and manage good working relationships with all Olympus locations and internal departments (Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Risk, etc.). Proven leadership, teamwork, collaboration and influencing skills. Ability to work effectively and with agility in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Working knowledge of problem-solving skills statistical and analytical skillsAbility to collect and synthesize data. Ability to collaborate, develop strong working relationships, and demonstrate leadership and project management capabilities within a matrixed organization environment. Bias for action, impeccable organizational skills, critical thinking, solutions-oriented, attentive to detail. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to identify and articulate solutions and strategies to business challenges. Travel up to 5% (international) may be required.

 

Preferred:

Working experience with 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485 and other applicable regulations is preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $101,523.00 - $142,132.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
