Description Job Summary: We are seeking a Principal Data Architect to spearhead enterprise-wide data architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and emerging technological trends. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and data stakeholders, the Principal Data Architect will design, implement, and optimize scalable data solutions that support advanced analytics and decision-making processes. This key position requires expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, data management, and data modeling, along with a demonstrated ability to stay current with evolving technologies and best practices in the field of data architecture. Requirements Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (or foreign equivalent). + 5+ years of experience in data modeling, data management technologies, data integration, and data engineering principles. + Proven experience in architecting data products using Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms. + 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS data pipelines (Glue, Kinesis, S3, etc.). + Proficiency in ELT and data warehouse frameworks, particularly DBT. + Familiarity with modern data platforms, such as NoSQL, Big Data stacks, in-memory DBMS, and graph databases Technical Skills: + Databases: Snowflake, AWS Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, Aurora. + ETL Tools: DBT, Matillion, Informatica, AWS Glue. + Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, Spark, PySpark. + Event Streaming Platforms: Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Qlik. + AWS Tools (MUST have): S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, Glue, EC2, IAM, CloudFormation. + Data Modeling Tools: Erwin or similar. + Hands-on experience with data process modeling tools (e.g., ERWin, ER Studio, Lucidchart). Preferred Skills and Knowledge: + Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). + Practical understanding of data governance practices and enterprise data asset protection strategies. + Strong ability to integrate data protection and information security measures throughout architecture designs.
