We're looking for a passionate Data Science Manager with great experience in consumer auto finance and in-depth knowledge of data analytics for our Consumer Asset Management group. This person will lead data solution for risk model implementations, score productions and supports machine learning techniques to create data science products to surface insights and improve effectiveness for Ally consumer auto customers. Reporting to the Director of Data Science for Consumer Asset Management Analytics and Strategy, this position will focus on collaborating with data solution and support (DSS) team and enterprise data analytics (EDA) team to ensure the proper implementation and monitoring of consumer risk models, while coaching and developing data science and risk analytics talent at Ally. If you are a creative and critical thinker, storyteller, learner, and innovator and want to work in an environment focused on using data science and big data tech, keep reading. **The Work Itself** * Lead the implementation and monitoring of consumer risk models (machine learning, vendor risk scores) to ensure the effectiveness of data science products (models, QATs) for business strategy optimization. * Closely collaborate with DSS and EDA team to support the data science migrations, including Oracle to Snowflake, SAS to Python on the cloud etc. * Use SQL & Python as main tool for data preparation: extracting, cleansing, aggregation and summarizing data to create meaningful visualizations and perform data exploration. * ·Expertise in not only data science / engineering techniques, but also knows how consumer lending portfolios perform, able to identify factors influencing credit risk and customer payment behavior. * Collaboratively work with internal and external partners to ensure alignment with Ally’s analytics & strategic imperatives; build and maintain a strong relationship with various matrix organizations (risk analytics, data management, business strategy & collection operations) **The Skills You Bring** * Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or similar discipline with quantitative focus, Master’s degree is a plus * 5+ years of relevant work experience in handling large volume of data, analytics, or related field * 5+ years professional experience in banking & financing industry; experience in backend account management for consumer auto lending is strongly preferred * Prior people and project management experience would be a value add. · In-depth knowledge on data, predictive modeling, and consumer risks areas with management experience to implement data science solutions. · * Hands-on experiences on using Snowflake SQL, Python, SAS, Knowledge of cloud computing is required. · * Excellent communication and presentation skills, including effectively present business optimization solutions and data science results (e.g., model implementation, A/B testing) to executive leadership. · Experience working with (and ability to influence) matrix partners that impact change capability, such as IT, Compliance, Legal, Vendor Management and Operations · * Candidate should possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; should be a critical thinker with strong attention to details \#LI-Hybrid \#DFS **How We'll Have Your Back** * Ally's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
