Job Overview:
Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Data Steward/Data Principal. This position demands an in-depth understanding of the lineage of products and materials, coupled with the ability to lead major master data projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing attributes, lists of values, and the metadata catalog, as well as running workshops and governance discussions across all levels of the organization. Knowledge of the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, Stibo STEP system, Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN), SAP system, and Alation system is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Office applications is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Lineage and Management
Understand and document the lineage of products and materials, tracing their origins, transformations, and usage throughout the organization.Maintain comprehensive records of data sources, data flows, and data transformations to ensure data accuracy and consistency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of data across various systems and platforms.Develop and implement data management strategies to enhance data quality and accessibility.Leadership in Master Data Projects
Lead and manage major master data projects, from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget project completion.Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.Workshops and Governance Discussions
Organize and lead workshops to educate and train employees on data governance principles, best practices, and tools.Facilitate governance discussions at all organizational levels to establish and enforce data governance policies and standards.Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement data governance frameworks and strategies.Act as a liaison between various departments to ensure consistent data governance practices across the organization.Evaluate and improve existing data governance processes to enhance data quality and compliance.Management of Attributes, Lists of Values, and Metadata Catalog
Oversee the management of data attributes, ensuring they are accurately defined and maintained.Manage lists of values used within the organization's data systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.Maintain the metadata catalog, ensuring it is comprehensive, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data management or data governance role.Strong background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.Proficiency in Stibo STEP system and Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN).Experience with SAP and Alation systems.Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong project management and organizational skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in facilitating workshops and governance discussions.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
