In this pivotal role, you will collaborate world-class engineers across departments to advance the boundaries of technology in Lumentum’s state-of-the-art laser products. Your efforts will be crucial in solving complex issues during both the development and production phases, focusing particularly on improving production yields and addressing customer application challenges.

You will be using data analysis tools to solve issues related with process and material and fundamental sciences in fiber lasers and solid-state lasers.  You will interact with engineers in multiple regions including Europe, Thailand, and US.  You will be the focal point to resolve production issues with teams from different departments including R&D, PLM, Operations, Planning, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality.  

In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring each product conforms to corporate best practices and company standards before advancing to the next development phase. This includes performing failure analysis using DOE, statistical analysis, and 8D approaches, as well as collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to meet Lumentum's high-quality standards.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
 

Lead cross-functional teams to perform rigorous failure analysis and ensure compliance with Lumentum’s corporate quality standards through all stages of the Product Development Process (PDP) and Project Deliverables Requirements List (PDRL).Perform failure analysis using DOE (Design of Experiment), statistical analysis, and 8D approaches.Collaborate with Design Teams to facilitate FMEA activities and deliverables for new product development and ensure product FMEA’s meet corporate standards.Collaborate with Design Teams to support Speed Design Review (SDR) activities and deliverables for new product development and ensure product designs meet corporate standards.Actively participate in product design reviews to ensure all corporate quality standards and metrics are achieved.Communicate and facilitate the adoption of corporate best practices for all product and process development activities and design deliverables.Some International travel required, up to 15%;

Experience/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Physics, Optics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (PhD preferred).Experience with design, manufacturing, and assembly processes for Electro-optical, Laser, or similar products.Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP.Strongly self-motivated, with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five or more years of industry experience in Electro-optical, Lasers, or similar products.Familiarity with design tools like SDR, DFMEA, PFMEA.Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations to non-technical staff and executives.

Pay Range:

P70-USA-1 :$124,600.00 - $178,000.00
