We are seeking a talented individual to join our AI CoE team at Marsh. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Senior Director - Data Science
We will count on you to:
Develop and execute the strategy for the AI Center of Excellence.Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, data engineers, and technology colleagues.Lead the design, development, deployment, and measurement of AI/ML models that provide new, market-leading analytics for our clients to understand & address risks and unlock insights, and for our colleagues to improve operational efficiency.Promote existing suite of AI/ML solutions in a coherent and compelling manner to help colleagues benefit from them, thereby avoiding duplication of efforts.Create business cases that will enable project prioritization and investment decisions.Ensure projects are resourced appropriately and delivered on time.Stay current with the latest AI technologies and industry trends, encouraging their use in the wider team as relevant.Establish and maintain guidelines for risk mitigation and governance of AI models.Define and evangelize best practices for model development and coding standards; enable standardization where necessary.What you need to have:
A bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.15+ years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Ability to influence others within and outside of the job function.Ability to develop strong internal / external client-oriented solutions.Knowledge of the Indian tech ecosystem and talent landscape.Experience with full stack AI/ML model development and deployment.Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Notebooks, and Amazon SageMaker.What makes you stand out?
Proven experience in using innovative applications of AI to disrupt traditional insurance processes.Strong relationships within the Insurtech community in India and globally.Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders, internally and to clients.A history of successful collaboration with technical stakeholders (Data Scientists, Actuaries, and software engineers) and non-technical stakeholders (client executives, brokers, risk managers).Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams.Hands-on experience with a deep neural network architecture (CNN, RNN, Deep Reinforcement Learning, GAN etc.) and experience with deep learning frameworks such TensorFlow or Pytorch.Publications or speaking engagements related to AI in insurance or risk management.Why join our team:
