DescriptionSkyworks is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer (EHS) to be a part of the Newbury Park EHS Team and a leader with strong environmental knowledge and experience. As an EHS Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring compliance with environmental programs including air, solid waste, hazardous waste, and water.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all required regulatory reporting and inspections, environmental training, permit compliance and plan development on behalf of Skyworks Solutions including: stormwater management programs, Regional Water Quality Control Board, VCAPCD, DTSC, City of Thousand Oaks and County of Ventura planning and reporting, and ISO 14001 Program management.
- Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical).
- Serve as the technical resource on behalf of the company in interactions with local, state and federal regulatory agencies in areas of hazardous materials.
- Interact with the Emergency Response Team for spill mitigation and with a variety of other functions.
- Prepare training to cover ISO 14001 and all regulatory programs.
- Monitor environmental compliance and maintain liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies, including VCAPCD, DTSC, City of Thousand Oaks and County of Ventura.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Recommend corrective action where environmental hazards exist.
- Provide technical guidance and support to our 24X7 manufacturing operations on all matters pertaining to environmental systems and regulatory compliance.
- Drive compliance and continuous environmental improvements operating within an ISO 14001 certified EMS.
- Work closely with all members of the EHS team.
Required Experience and Skills
• BS in Chemical or Environment Engineering, or equivalent years of experience with a minimum of 8 years related experience in an environmental engineer position with a manufacturing facility.
• Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring sustainable Environmental Health programs in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to serve as technical resource for regulatory compliance, project leadership ability.
• Possess good time management, proven ability to complete tasks within designated time frames and good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Possess excellent skills in problem solving, teamwork, and verbal and written communications.
Preferred Experience and Skills
• Semiconductor experience is a plus.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $99,800 - $192,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
