Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to analyze and design electrical circuits, modify PCB layouts, and lead engineering change orders for electronic design changes. You will work with a cross-functional team and conduct product development activities such as prototyping, testing, and risk assessment. This role involves interfacing with suppliers and manufacturers to support the design and qualification of test and fabrication fixtures, creating clear product requirements, and identifying and mitigating design and product risks.Requires extensive experience within New Product Development for Medical Devices within Electrical Engineering discipline.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze electrical circuits and identify substitutes for obsolete components.Design electrical circuits and modify layouts of printed circuit boards.Lead Engineering Change Orders for electronic design changes while working with a cross-functional team including Mechanical Engineering, Software, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Quality.Conduct product development activities such as prototyping/testing and support pilot builds, verification & validation activities, and risk assessment.Interface with internal and external suppliers and manufacturers to support the design and qualification of test and fabrication fixtures.Create clear product requirements to translate into designs.Identify and mitigate design and product risks.Essential SkillsSystem-level troubleshooting.Embedded systems.Electrical engineering.Electrical design.Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar CAD software.Documentation within engineering change orders, supplier change notifications, and life cycle management of devices.Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.6+ years' experience as an Electrical Engineer, with at least 3 years in medical devices.Experience designing PCB boards within Altium.Experience in analog circuit design involving ADC, DAC, op-amps, solenoids, motor drivers, and switching regulators.Experience designing medical products for compliance with Safety, EMC, and wireless specifications.Ability to troubleshoot complex PCBs.Understanding of design controls and change management.Knowledge of ISO, regulatory, and legislative standards applicable to the development of medical devices.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with sustaining change management.Ability to identify the root cause of issues affecting a design using different methodologies and documenting the findings.Ability to identify potential issues, assess their impact, and develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans with limited guidance.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Minimum of 10 Years Experience with relevant Electrical / Medical device Experience Required Work Environment

This position requires you to be onsite five days a week. The work schedule is flexible, with no overtime (40 hours per week). You will be part of a small electrical design team consisting of 3-5 people within a larger R&D team of about 20 people. The company has been acquired and is in the process of rebuilding the team and moving locations in the new year. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00
