Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Job Description

The Principal Controls Engineer will primarily be responsible for project work, including being a thought leader in new technology. They will help establish best practices for controls design and programming, and provide technical support for complex projects. The ideal candidate will eventually grow into a managerial/leadership role for the team. The role involves control systems design and programming for various industries such as Dairy & Food Controls, Brewery Controls, Ethanol Plant Controls, Grain Storage & Handling Controls, Packaging & Material Handling Controls, Water & Wastewater Controls, Refrigeration Controls, and Industrial Machinery Controls.

The work environment includes a facility dedicated to the Electrical team, with another facility in Freeport, IL for sales and services. The company employs around 110 people, with half being journeymen electricians working on electrical installations in industrial facilities, including food, dairy, and wastewater treatment plants. The automation department consists of 12 members, including 1 CAD designer and 4 automation integrators or field control engineers. The team also includes a project manager with an electrical engineering degree. Depending on their role, employees may report to the office and do day trips to customers or spend the majority of their time in the office for project management and PLC design.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $72.12
