Purpose\:
We are currently seeking Principal Electrical Engineering candidates interested in filling the role of an Electrical Engineering Department Manager to work on various projects and be responsible for overall supervision of electrical engineers/designers. You will provide electrical engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and mentorship to others within the electrical engineering team. You will be responsible for overall supervision of the Electrical Engineering team. You will bring natural gas processing, oil refining and/or chemical industry experience to specifically support Worley’s clients in the US West Region.

Responsibilities\:
Act as the Principal Electrical Engineer for the Electrical Engineering Department.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to\:

Personnel Responsibilities

Be an example of safe work habits at work and home. Assess and improve technical competence of Electrical Engineering personnel. Hire capable Electrical Engineers and assist in their introduction to Worley and their new coworkers. Perform annual performance reviews using Worley systems and provide feedback to employees. Be an official mentor to staff as assigned. Be an informal mentor to all Electrical Engineering staff. Perform annual salary assessments and communicate the results to employees. Promote career development within the electrical department. Identify subject matter experts and contribute to the Worley global system of posting their capabilities.

Project Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Project Management Team and forecast requirements for Electrical Engineering resources. Assign Electrical Engineering staff appropriately for project needs. Ensure Electrical Engineering commitments are met throughout the department. Promote inter-discipline communication and cooperation and resolve interface issues that arise. Prepare, or assign and review, Electrical Engineering staffing estimates for project tasks. Promote use of world-wide Global Integrated Delivery (GID) of Electrical Engineering in India and Bogota, Columbia. Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives. Check compliance with Worley quality assurance/safety/sustainability standards. Ensure department cost and schedule promises are kept during project as studies and projects are executed. 

Relationship Development and Communication Responsibilities

Develop strong relationships with Denver department managers, North American Electrical Engineering department managers, and GID counterparts. Participate in Global Engineering Team initiatives. Attend global Process Engineering Managers meetings and regularly contribute to the conversation. Promote the Worley culture and communication development within the Electrical Engineering department. 

Engineering Capabilities

Capable of working on engineering studies or project production including leading an Electrical Engineering team. Become immersed in Worley project history and capabilities and market them to clients both directly and through presentations. Understand Worley work process maps to anticipate electrical engineering activities during near-term project execution to assist lead engineers and assigned projects.

Your responsibility will include\:

Work as Lead Electrical Engineer on assigned projects, Responsible for overall supervision of electrical engineers/designers. Improving technical competence of electrical engineering personnel. Forecast requirement for electrical engineering resources and allocate those resources. Electrical design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards. Identify electrical software necessary to enable instrument/electrical group to function effectively. Inter discipline communication development. Electrical group communication development. Prepare electrical man-hour estimate to perform project tasks. Check compliance with QA/safety/environment goals. Promote culture in electrical engineering group. Manage electrical design and any design changes within budget and schedule. Evaluate new technological advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable. Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives. Promote career development within the group. Identify and review new technological developments which could be applicable in providing more cost-effective facilities. Technical supervision of project designated electrical designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty. Prepare weekly electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis. Benchmark electrical design/drafting and identify areas of improvement. Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU, etc. Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the BU, etc. Understand and follow OH&S procedures. *

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements\: 

15 years of relevant experience.  Previous experience creating grounding, area class, power, single line, and motor control drawings with a clear understanding of protective devices and coordination techniques. Knowledgeable of the ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC, and other industry codes, specifications, and standards. Able to conduct arc flash requirements and calculations. Able to conduct AC Mitigation analysis. Able to perform engineering calculations, e.g., load flow, short circuit, harmonics, equipment sizing, large motor starting, grounding, transient stability, electromagnetic transients, insulation coordination, etc. Familiar with and able to specify high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment (MCC’s, Transformers, switchgear, etc.) Ability to interface with and understand client needs. Ability to perform Department Management / Leadership within Instrumentation and Controls. Ability to lead and interact with engineers and designers with clearly established expectations. Previous experience with electrical modeling and analytical software, e.g., ETAP or EasyPower and performing various power systems and transmission line studies. ETAP experience preferred. Previous experience participating in TIC estimates. Ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget on assigned projects. Familiar with electrical construction techniques, installation practices and plant start-up requirements. Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to achieving corporate delivery and execution requirements. 

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training\: 

Required\:

A recognized degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited college or university. PE status in Colorado and California required.

Preferred\:

PE in other states preferred including Wyoming, North Dakota, and Texas.

This position is to be located in the Englewood/Denver area.
Salary\: $143,133-$210,490 annually commensurate with experience. Benefits\: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
