General Summary:
Qualcomm is looking for an experienced SoC architect to work on the next generation AI products in the datacenter.
We are looking for a data center engineer whose expertise spans security, RAS and virtualization.
The selected candidate will help define the architecture and drive requirements from card/server level to a full rack.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design.
Responsibilities:
Understand trends in datacenter security, RAS and virtualization through customer and ODM engagementsWork with customers to determine HW and SW requirementsAnalysis of the current AI server deployments in different datacentersArchitect enhancements required for deployment of next-generation AI productsDesign and architecture systems encompassing the following featuresSecurityConfidential compute or its equivalent based on datacenter requirementsRASReliability analysis of the card, server and rack level systemsDesign/architect for easy serviceabilityImplement HW/SW techniques for improved availability to mitigate failures.VirtualizationSupport multiple clients using VMs on the same HW platformLeverage industry best practices for security and isolation between clientsMinimum Requirements:
Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, or related field.10+ years HW design, testing and commercialization experience3+ years of experience of working in datacenter related products - servers, accelerators etc.In-depth knowledge of datacenter - security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, lifecycle, deployments etc.Good knowledge of scale-up and scale-out architectures.Willingness to work in a high-caliber international/multi-site teamPreferred Skills and Experience:
Strong knowledge of server security specifically in the area of Confidential ComputeParticipation in OCP Security Forum and Confidential Compute Forum is a plusStrong working experience in defining RAS requirements at the SoC, board, server and rack levelStrong knowledge and understanding of PCIe protocol spanning SRIOV, SIOV, IDE, TDISP etc.Good knowledge of nVidia/AMD GPU architectures focusing on security, RAS and virtualizationGood knowledge of Ethernet protocols with emphasis on error recovery and virtualizationGood knowledge of x86 and ARM based serversAbility to work with PdM (Product Marketing) and datacenter customers to define requirements covering security, RAS and virtualization etc.Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$211,200.00 - $316,800.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
