Principal Engineer, Innovation, Public Sector
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. + 8 years of experience in software, hardware, or infrastructure engineering, with a focus on technical innovation and engineering leadership. + Experience coaching executive technical leaders and practitioners on Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption, leverage, benefits, and pitfalls. + Experience in building AI/ML products and leading initiatives. Preferred qualifications: + Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. + Experience transitioning scaled products and platforms, materially impacting the strategic product and business plans of a sizable organization. + Experience delivering mission solutions to the department of defense and other United States of America agencies. + Experience in the field of data science, AI/ML, with products, platforms or experiences built with Artificial Intelligence (AI) at its core. + Experience working within a larger organization. + Knowledge of government compliance frameworks, such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and others. In this role, you will create and reinforce the human pathways between Google Engineering and our most strategic public sector customers and partners, allowing all of us to start from defined, potentially transformative market opportunities and convert them into new, technology-enabled businesses. You will help government agencies create their future and help us create the future of Google by continuously tuning our innovation system and products to the needs of the world’s most complex enterprises. You will manage cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with significant enterprise experience in the Public Sector and other commercial industries. You will deliver significant business and public sector outcomes through cloud related innovation. You will also spend a considerable amount of time as a keyboard engineer building and operating software or hardware. You will interact with public sector executives and engineering leaders in the customers we serve through direct knowledge of their mission. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
