Essential Responsibilities:
Focus is Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) for IAEA Safety Guide and IEC Standards based Safety Class None (SCN) and SC3 or US NRC based Non- Safety-Related and Augmented Quality designated scope in the BWR turbine island (TI) and balance of plant (BOP) control and monitoring systems and components or equipment.Complimentary, enabling, and critical focus is the GE Mark*VIe Distributed Control System (DCS) as well as the Mark* VIeS [IEC Std 61508 SIL-3 Safety Controller] designated scope. Scope includes all aspects of application engineering in the Mark* VIe product offering hardware and software plus data networking technology stack including; module selection, cabinet configuration and detailed design, control, monitoring, alarm management, human machine or systems interface (HMI/HSI) software programming as well as all related digital tools [e.g.; ToolBoxST, ControlST, CIMPLICITY, ActivePoint, Virtual Controller, Virtual Development Infrastructure (VDI), etc.Develop control philosophy, algorithm, mathematical modeling, and simulation to achieve innovative and robust designs with appropriate functions, features, performance, and margin across plant modes of operation.Lead systems design thru Conceptual, Preliminary, Detailed phases of Standard Plant Design followed by customer specific Engineer – Procure – Construct (EPC) projects.Prepare and maintain using data-centric digital tools with rigorous requirements, change control, and configuration management:Static documents of; reports, specifications, databases, tabular lists of; functions, algorithms, set points, equipment and instrument characteristics and configurations, electrical and heat loads, physical layout or placement in rooms, buildings, structures,Static diagrams or drawings of; context, functional block, sequential flow, ladder logic, digital logic, inter-connection wiring, electrical schematic, data communication and networking,Dynamic physics based and logic simulation design and analysis models.Collaborate with other Disciplines to define and achieve functional, performance, human factors, safety hazards, cyber security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and inspect’ability (RAMI) goals using failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), probabilistic risk analysis (PRA), and similar techniques.Support nuclear regulatory licensing document and request for information response preparation.Prepare high level design packages for internal turn-over as GEH is the systems integrator.Perform design technical oversight, review, and verification of deliverables to ensure their adequacy in; accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements.Perform implementation technical oversight of unit, module, system, and integration test plans, procedures, and reports including; factory acceptance (FAT), multi-system (MFAT), site acceptance (SAT), pre-operational (POT), and start-up (SUT) tests including inspection, test, or analysis and acceptance criteria (ITAAC) thru commercial operations date (COD).Lead technical assessment and optioneering studies, root cause analyses, design reviews, etc. of systems design and planned implementation or fulfillment approaches.Provide staff technical mentoring, guidance, oversight, competency or qualification assessment with balanced, respectful mindset.Champion knowledge capture and transfer, Lessons Learned, Best Practices, Design Guides, use of digital tools, etc.Prepare technical papers, awards, and patents.Participate in industry groups.Establish productive working relationships with; Engineering, Product and Project Management, other support functions, and both internal and external suppliers.Deliver with integrity, safety and security, quality, then output at cost – Champion nuclear culture.Support LEAN, Design To Cost, Value Engineering, etc.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering for Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Computer Science or Technology, Software or Systems or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent advanced technical degree.15 years' experience in design engineering thru commissioning of control and monitoring systems which were implemented using top tier DCS on large steam or combined cycle heavy duty gas turbine based thermal power plants.10 years' experience preparing system design requirements, specifications, documentation, and related detailed design artifacts using digital tools such as; drawings, databases, tabular lists covering functions, algorithms, set points, equipment and instrument characteristics and configurations, electrical and heat loads, physical equipment layout.10 years' experience preparing diagrams using digital tools such as; context, functional block, sequential flow, ladder logic, digital logic, inter-connection wiring, electrical schematic, data communication and networking as well as physics based algorithm development plus simulation and modeling.10 years' experience with DCS systems integration from front end engineering design, application design, requisition engineering or fulfillment, test, and field engineering using a top tier DCS product offering [e.g.; GE Mark* VIe, Emerson Ovation, Schneider Tricon, Delta V, Siemens S7].10 years' experience using industry standards applicable to DCS system design through requisition engineering or fulfillment and FAT to successful site installation test and COD:IEC Standards 60xxx, 61xxx and 62xxx series, ORIEEE Standards 828, 829, 830, 1008, 1012, 1028, 1042, and 1074.10 year experience with excellent PC as well as productivity software [e.g.; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio].5 year experience using digital tools preparing dynamic physics based process control algorithm development as well as logic analysis, modeling, and simulation.Eligibility Requirements:

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
