Baker Hughes is currently hiring a Principal Engineer – Process Control and Optimization to join the team. We are looking for an experienced industry expert with a background and experience in implementing advanced process control and/or real-time optimization applications for process plants. The principal engineer will lead technical pre-sales activities followed by implementation of Cordant Process Optimization solution. Baker Hughes Cordant Process Optimization solution is based on a novel approach that combines process domain knowledge along with advanced machine learning techniques.

As a Principal Engineer, you are expected to provide process and optimization domain expertise for extending existing product offerings in varied industrial processes.

In the role of Principal Engineer – Process Control and Optimization, you will be responsible for: 

Supporting the sales teams in identifying, quantifying, and presenting complex process optimization opportunities to our customers.

Developing technical proposals for process optimization in LNG, fertilizers, gas processing, refining and olefins industry.

Leading delivery teams during the implementation and ensuring the technical success of our solution.

Serving as a subject matter expert in advising the product team on industry use cases, ideation, and feature implementation.

Working with product managers, data scientists and customers to drive the adoption of AI / ML-based process optimization applications.

Staying informed of industry technology and innovation, disseminating new technology information to the Baker Hughes engineering and services teams.

Providing coaching, technical mentoring & development of subject matter experts globally.

Promoting a safe working environment, being responsible and driving compliance, quality & EHS culture in the organization. 

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing Advanced Process Control (APC) and/or optimization solutions, including but not limited to DMCplus, DMC3, SMOC, PACE, RMPCT, Profit suite, ROMeo, or similar technologies within the process industry. 

Experience and passion with data driven/ML based optimization models is preferred.

Proven ability to successfully lead APC and/or optimization projects on complex industrial processes.

Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer engagement skills.

Business Acumen and the ability to influence senior-level management investment decisions.

Proven experience working with people in an operating plant or other operational setting. 

Extensive experience communicating and working with senior executive stakeholders.

Desired Technical Knowledge

Expert-level knowledge of APC and optimization technologies and methodologies

Experienced with the implementation of APC or Real-Time Optimization systems

Knowledge of plant data-driven process modelling/analytics and its limitations

Experience with varied and complex industrial processes, preferably LNG, cryogenic processes, syngas and/or fertilizer industries, gas processing, refining and olefins.
