Principal Engineer

Job Summary

You will work onsite in the Russellville Facility, reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager. You will manage Utility and Wastewater Operations for the ConAgra Russellville Complex. You will support operations requirements and manage staffing for these areas. You will work with our engineering teams to design an optimized technical and business solution for projects that require capital investment. You will provide technical support where equipment may need modification for immediate improvement in an upset condition. We expect a continuous improvement mindset - recommend and implement improvements, modifications or additions which will enhance the Engineering work streams. 5 years related experience is required.

Position Responsibilities

You will manage Boiler, Refrigeration, and Wastewater teams, working to develop and retain experienced technicians. You will be responsible for ammonia and refrigeration equipment, water, hot water, high pressure hot water, steam and wastewater.You will develop Front-End-Loading packages (FEL's) that are complete and clear, and reflecting due diligence to ensure project success. FEL packages include:Technology assessment and recommended solutions reflecting plant, company, and industry best practices.Physical location and general arrangement placements (drawing level).Infrastructure requirements assessment.Work with Engineering Project Manager to determine preliminary Capital / Expense Estimates.Work with the Engineering Project Manager to determine a design schedule that meets that overall project schedule requirements.Equipment / System Performance criteria.Identify Alternatives, Pre-requisites, Risks, and Opportunities.Write detailed functional control descriptions for the unit operations and processing systems recommended by the Engineer.You will review Technical Briefs providing technical guidance to our project teamYou will help us develop Business Case Screening scopes and estimates to give the business a directional view of a project and the robustness of the business caseYou will stay current with food processing technology and commercial applications and remain current on industry regulations and codes relative to Processing equipment system design and operation.You will provide technical and economic feasibility to other groups within the Company that are focused on improvements to the current state and developing competitive advantages against peer set.You will support PSM, Safety, and Regulatory compliance.

Position Qualifications

BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related technical field.Industrial manufacturing experience with large facility operations required in addition to practical experience of 5 years in food manufacturing or food process system design.Experience in Project Engineering and project execution.Understanding of continuous improvement applications in engineering design.Effectiveness in working collaboratively within a matrix organization.Experience transcribing project requirements into a technical solution through sound application of engineering principles.
