SECTOR OVERVIEW Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects. POSITION SUMMARY TRC is seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer to join our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team in Milwaukee, WI. This leadership-oriented position is required to provide operational, permitting, compliance, design, and construction services to a wide variety of clients. Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects. As a Principal Engineer, the successful candidate will apply their existing knowledge and leadership skills while working as part of a dynamic and fast paced engineering team in Milwaukee, WI and across the Midwest. The position focuses on a candidate with skills to assist clients as they comply with various environmental regulations and address their permitting challenges by working with our project team to perform analyses and to develop and implement plans, designs, and specifications. A desire to work with internal business development professionals and senior managers to establish and grow a sustainable client base is required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS Provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff and project managers while maintaining quality and profitability on TRC's projects, as well as assisting with managing and developing the skill-sets of Project Managers and other employees and resources to ensure our projects are executed with a high level of efficiency and technical excellence. Lead strategic pursuits, including proposal development and client meetings, and help maintain strong relationships with key leaders within their geographic region, and other members in the TRC Environmental Sector. Support and develop new business opportunities, and deliver responsive, high quality environmental compliance and/or investigation and remediation consulting services. Budget, scope and schedule development, monitoring and adherence for tasks and projects managed. Direct, manage and monitor multiple project budgets, scopes, and schedules; demonstrate the ability to lead and manage complex assessment and remediation projects in multiple sectors including oil and gas, utilities, rail and transportation, industrial, and government. Work with senior management, market directors and project managers on strategic pursuits, including proposal development and client meetings, and help to maintain strong relationships with key planning leaders Quality Analysis/Quality Control of key deliverables related to projects and tasks managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others. Responsible for implementation of firm quality procedures at project and task levels. Technical oversight of the preparation of technical documents and reports. Pinpoint and market new clients within the upper Midwest Maintain and grow existing client accounts. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 15+ years' experience in environmental consulting Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering WI Professional Engineering or Professional Geologist license. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with remedial investigation and planning Experience with stormwater management Experience with vapor intrusion and mitigation OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current refresher training.
