Principal Engineer
Job Title: Principal EngineerJob Description We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to provide primary support for certified fielded products and secondary support for new designs. The focus of the role is on the Control System, specifically the HF120 Fuel Pump and Metering Unit, including associated sensors and other aircraft engine fuel system components. Responsibilities + Support the resolution of problems encountered during production and field operations, adhering to appropriate regulations, standards, and publications. + Implement corrective actions, including design changes per company procedures. + Work with all parties involved, both internal and external, to ensure successful progress throughout the development process. + Identify regulatory and design requirements to ensure product success. + Develop creative solutions to meet regulatory and product requirements. + Create and maintain development plans to accomplish project goals, including product weight and cost reduction to meet company targets. + Design and manufacture test equipment supporting local testing, including generating test plans, executing or overseeing testing, data collection, reduction, and test procedure and report writing. + Focus on control systems, including the HF120 Fuel Pump and Metering Unit, and associated sensors (speed, temperature, and pressure). Essential Skills + Experience with fuel pump and control design. + Experience setting up for Production and MRO. + Experience with engine suppliers. + Familiarity with FAA requirements. + Hands-on experience with manufacturing design and troubleshooting. + Proficiency with MATLAB / SIM CENTER systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. + A minimum of 10 years of design experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably related to aircraft engine fuel/control system components. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. + Proficiency with 3D modeling and familiarity with computational software. + Knowledge of control systems, hydraulic principles, jet engine operation, and FAA regulations. + Willingness to travel domestically up to 5%, with some international travel. + Comfortable working in environments with the smell of jet fuel. Work Environment The work environment includes working with a focus on control systems, including the HF120 Fuel Pump and Metering Unit, and associated sensors. The role involves designing and manufacturing test equipment supporting local testing. The position may require up to 5% domestic travel and some international travel. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Two Weeks of PTO.
