JOB SCOPE

Responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex cloud infrastructure, acting as a technical expert by overseeing cloud architecture, development, security, automation, and optimization across an organization, often with a focus on strategic planning and guiding other cloud engineers on best practices across the Charter public cloud.


DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

Creating and maintaining scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud architectures across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, AZURE).Mentoring and guiding junior cloud engineers on cloud technologies and best practices.Implementing robust cloud security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations..Tests and reviews system designs.Building and managing automation tools to streamline cloud operations, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.Monitoring cloud performance and identifying bottlenecks to improve Charter system efficiency.Diagnosing and resolving technical problems within the Charter cloud environment.Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.Knows, understands and follows company policy.Performs other duties as requested by manager.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS

Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience Minimum five (5) years of Engineering work experience

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATONS

Thorough understanding of the chosen cloud platform's services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security features. Proficiency in multiple programming languages like Python, Java, or Go, particularly for automation and scripting. Basic knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology. Basic knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model. Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations. Ability to perform duties in a very fast paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly. Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation tools to streamline deployments and management. Effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Mentoring and guiding junior cloud engineers, providing technical direction on cloud initiatives.

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,800.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
