BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Principal Engineer III, you will be responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance Connected Home customer premise equipment. This is a cross functional technical role that spans architecture and engineering responsibilities for DOCSIS, PON, and Wi-Fi equipment. Recognized as the technical and design expert as well as solid troubleshooting fundamentals.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience with system architecture and testing knowledge of Ethernet, DOCSIS, PON, and Wi-Fi.Experience with HFC designs, RF theory, and system troubleshooting methodologies. Background in advanced networking principals and protocol stacks.Experience with building and analyzing RFP, RFI, and RFQ to build new products that could be introduced for use in the network.Experience with large scale command and control platforms for CPE equipment.Ability to craft quality training documentation which testing, triage, and operation oriented teams can consume.Mentors and guides the work of senior technical staff.Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.Knows, understands and follows company policy.Performs other duties as requested by manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Master expert knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols

Master expert knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology Master expert knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations

Master expert knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances

Master expert knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio

Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly

Ability to use personal computer and software applications

Required Education

Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Engineering work experience - 16+ Project management work experience - 16+

Knowledge of company products and services

Preferred Education

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)

The base pay for this position generally is between $138,800.00 and $246,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
