Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer (Traffic ) to join our team! In this role you will lead and manage complex traffic engineering studies, ensuring that the infrastructure design to support the city expansion is in compliance with the city-wide transportation strategy, national and international codes.
Reports directly to Planning and Technical Specifications Supervisor. Interacts with all relevant Engineering staff, internal departments in Technical Affairs, Roads Department and external contractors / consultants. Regularly interfaces with Royal Commission Senior Management and occasionally with KSA regulatory bodies.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and implement traffic management plans and strategies to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.
Conduct traffic impact assessments for new developments and provide recommendations for improvements.
Design and optimize traffic signal timings and phasing plans to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
Analyze traffic data and conduct traffic capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement.
Collaborate with transportation planners and engineers to develop sustainable transportation solutions.
Conduct safety assessments and recommend measures to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management measures and make necessary adjustments.
Prepare and present detailed reports, proposals, and technical documents to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Coordinates Specialist Consultants/Contractors as needed to complete the studies.
Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules efficiently, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
Review traffic strategies submitted by Private Investors within the City.
Stay updated on the latest traffic engineering practices, regulations, and technology advancements.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for Senior Management and stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Collaborate with other departments and investors on urban infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless integration of traffic solutions.
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and address any issues or challenges promptly
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience (from a recognised western university) with a proven track record in managing complex projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required. • Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic control devices, and design of mitigation measures to improve traffic efficiency.
Experience with traffic modeling software (e.g., SYNCHRO and VISSIM)
