Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an Environmental Engineer with 10+ years or experience that exhibits great problem-solving skills, a “can do” approach and thrives in a high energy environment.  In this role, you will work as part of a team of experts, supporting various environmental projects, that includes soil, sediment and groundwater remediation, from initial investigations through construction and site closeouts. Primarily scopes of work will be associated with former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites. You will be based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office, however willingness to travel to supplier, client, site investigation locations or construction site locations within the New York City area is expected and will be required. 

Responsibilities:

Technically focused role, providing leadership on geotechnical, sediment remediation, civil and other complex environmental projectsMay function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the groupMay plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit on projects requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investmentLeads other Engineers and design personnel on environmental projectsEnsures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract. Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing sup plier manufacturing capabilities.Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct onsite training of personnel.Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations. Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.  May assist with other administrative and technical duties.Recommends, prepares and presents technical papers and reports.  May review and assist in compiling technical reports and documents prepared by others

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of related work experience. Master's degree in Engineering strongly preferred. Environmental focus is requiredProfessional Engineer registration (or ability/plan to obtain within 12 months) is strongly preferred.Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are requireMust possess a thorough knowledge of MGP investigation and remediation, current applicable remedial technologies, and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project

Salary Range: 

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
