Principal Facilities Engineer/Planner

 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Principal Facilities Engineer to lead and be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our facility’s infrastructure. This role requires developing long-term plans, maintaining safety and regulatory standards, and improving building systems for enhanced efficiency and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership experience, and the ability to drive long-term facility management strategies.

Experience in manufacturing, high-tech, or industrial facility management.Strong background in sustainability initiatives and cost-reduction strategies.Proven ability to lead large-scale facility projects and drive operational efficiencies.
For This Role, You Will Need:

Facility Operations & Maintenance

Oversee the design, operation, and maintenance of critical facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and efficiency.Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Project Management & Strategic Planning

Lead major facility upgrades, expansions, and new construction projects.Develop long-term infrastructure improvement plans to support business growth and operational needs.Manage budgets for facility operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects.Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Compliance, Safety & Sustainability

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, ISO, and environmental guidelines.Implement energy management strategies and sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and operating costs.Develop and maintain emergency response plans and business continuity strategies related to facility operations.

Leadership & Team Development

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers and facility management personnel.Establish best practices, standard operating procedures, and training programs to enhance team capabilities.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in facility operations.
 
 Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Minimum 10+ years in facility engineering, building operations, or related roles, with experience in leadership or management positions.Technical Expertise:Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), AutoCAD, and CMMS software.Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and green building certifications (LEED, ISO 14001).Certifications (Preferred): Certified Facility Manager (CFM), LEED Accredited Professional, PMP, or similar credentials.Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
