Principal Financial Analyst - Americas Finance COE – US FP&A

Come join the dynamic US Sales Finance COE Team.  Our team supports 12 unique Operating Units within the Cardiovascular, Neuroscience and Med Surgical portfolios as well as the US Commercial Markets organization.  This position will provide financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis of expenses and revenue for the US Sales Organization.  You will work closely with key stakeholders across the Operating Units including Sales Finance, OU CFOs and National Sales Leadership.  Our team strives to leverage our shared knowledge of each OUs structure to provide standardized and sustainable, best in class FP&A support to enable our businesses to maximize their potential.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

•    Perform Financial Planning & Analysis activities for expenses and revenue supporting our US Sales Organizations.
•    Prepare and present monthly analysis, commentary and forecasting, including key drivers, performance metrics, risks and opportunities for Finance Leadership, Operating Unit partners and Sales Leadership
•    Develop and maintain standardized reporting and analytics that can be leveraged across all Operating Units.
•    Partner with Operating Unit finance to develop the annual operating plan (AOP) and re-occurring forecasting.
•    Compensation planning and expense estimates with Total Rewards and Sales Compensation Teams: annual comp design meetings, identification of metrics, modeling cost impact of proposed changes and calculating quarterly commissions expense.
•    Provide key variables and analysis to identify actions to close expense gaps to Target.
•    Manage all aspects of our US sales cost centers, including creating plan, forecasting, reporting and maintaining our cost center structure.
•    Collaborate with Sales Systems team to optimize system tools and reporting.
•    Leverage insights to make continuous improvements. 
•    Maintain strong relationships with key functions including: Operating Unit Finance, Total Rewards, Sales Compensation and Financial Systems Team

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree plus 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (or Advanced Degree with 5+ years of work experience)

Nice to Have
•    Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) work experience, including developing revenue & expense analytics.
•    Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify key trends and drivers.
•    Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate financial data into concise information for management.
•    Strong organization and time management skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks, changing priorities and maintain accurate records.
•    Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize systems/data to provide insightful analysis and implement recommendations.
•    Strong business acumen: ability to learn/understand the business and influence key stakeholders at various management levels to drive and increase value to the organization.
•    High level of initiative and self-motivation. 
•    Ability to work independently with limited manager oversight.
•    Experience with projects that require high matrix collaboration, building relationships and influence.  
•    Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, Essbase/Hyperion, Spend & Business Objects.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
•    MBA/CPA

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
