Principal HVAC, Water and Sewage Engineer for Data Center

Role description:

This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. The MEPF Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) in the GECs is comprised of  cross-functional teams, that contribute to the development of innovative MEPF solutions that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Our ability to effectively manage projects, assess client needs, and provide technical guidance is crucial in delivering successful outcomes, using the most innovative way of doing computational design. 

Role accountabilities:

Expert level in engineering design of ventilation, heating and colling installations, water and sewage systems. Develops multiple solutions for an asset and make a technical-economic assessment of the system that fits best with client and project requirements.  Designs, calculates, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.  Build proficiency in REVIT and BIM checking software as well as other software used in calculation.  Plan, organize, and execute projects effectively. This includes managing budgets, coordinating with other disciplines, and overseeing the work of senior and junior engineers or technicians. Estimating the necessary budget, resource list and schedule for the entire HVAC scope of the project.  Create comprehensive engineering documents, including equipment specifications, reports, presentation. Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking. Attend relevant design and client meetings to gain a better understanding of the project and design work required, asking questions of the internal team as necessary. Ensure that HVAC, water and sewage systems designs meet safety and environmental regulations, sustainability and energy efficiencies regulations following industry standards and guidelines.  Implement national/international standards in HVAC, water and sewage systems design as well as client demands and project specific requirements. 

Qualifications & Experience:

Mandatory:

Bachelor’s Degree in Building services. Expert knowledge of design software (e.g. AutoCAD) and calculation software (HAP, Trane Trace, etc.) Minimum of 7+ year experience in HVAC, water and sewage systems engineering is required. Extensive knowledge of national, international and local codes and standards.  Extensive knowledge of energy and sustainability regulations and industry best practices.  Proven ability to innovate and develop creative solutions to complex HVAC, water and sewage systems design challenges. They should be adept at problem-solving and have a track record of implementing new technologies, techniques, or design methodologies to improve HVAC, water and sewage systems performance and efficiency. Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Implementation of quality procedure to ensure a good design deliverables. Strong leadership skills and previous experience in managing large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are important for collaborating with clients, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process. Candidate to show out-of-the box thinking in order to identify any opportunities for automation or innovation.  Good knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability, indoor quality, acoustics.  Knowledge of BREEM, LEED and other certifying organizations is appreciated. Strong English language skills.
