About Potash
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon.  BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location
This role will be based out of BHP’s corporate office in Downtown, Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be initially 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

BHP offers relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.

 

About MECoE
BHP's Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) are the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving, and maintaining the highest standards and best industry practices in maintenance and engineering for BHP globally.

 

About the Role
We are seeking applications from highly motivated individuals with experience in the maintenance, engineering or resource industries, who are interested in upcoming opportunities within the Maintenance Strategy Governance (MSG) team. As part of the MSG team, you will improve the way equipment is maintained through our core processes of maintenance strategy development, governance and optimization.

 

In this role, you will:

Govern Maintenance strategies of Production and safety critical equipment across BHP operations

Implementing the MECoE centralized model for managing asset strategies in Potash

Manage prospective changes to asset strategies and monitor their integrity and effectiveness.

Optimizing asset strategies in collaboration with Maintenance teams (Reliability, Execution), Engineering and other Functions to keep them current, relevant and accurate.

Leading and delivering improvement initiatives that optimise our asset strategies to support the business plan.

Proactively monitor and identify performance deviations from targets in collaboration with the wider MECoE to anticipate and prevent loss.

Promote a continuous improvement culture by proactive identifying causes of loss and eliminating waste.

 

About You

Have a proven track record of a strong safety participation.

Be a team player who promotes and supports workplace diversity.

Ability to quickly build effective working rapport with stakeholders to influence decision making, negotiate positive outcomes and ensure business and customer expectations are achieved.

You will be required to interface with other Functions across the business, Operational leadership teams and with the other sub-functions within the Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence. It is therefore essential that you can effectively communicate, engage and influence at all levels, foster a collaborative environment and are able to travel.

Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity, create clarity and reach high quality decisions and manage change through influence.

Have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to apply critical thinking, a curious mind, and creative problem-solving skills to generate business value.

Understanding of how the maintenance ecosystem works with Engineering, Projects and Operations, preferably with Fixed Plant experience.

Have a tertiary qualification in Engineering.

Be adaptive to change and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple deliverables across stakeholders.

You will have a focus on continuous improvement and be passionate about delivering exceptional results.

Preferably have expertise with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) including FMECA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Asset Performance Management (APM), Downtime Accounting Systems (DAS) and CMMS systems (e.g. 1SAP) is essential.
