About the role:
The Principal Market Intelligence Manager is a key strategic role responsible for delivering critical insights into competitors, market dynamics, and industry trends. This position will lead competitive intelligence (CI) initiatives, oversee market modeling, and maintain the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of global market data. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, expertise in the Urology market, and the ability to communicate complex insights in an actionable manner to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Competitive Intelligence Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive CI program to monitor, analyze, and anticipate competitor actions and market trends. Establish a structured CI framework, with regular updates on competitor activities, clinical and regulatory updates, new product launches, and market shifts. Proactively report critical competitive developments and emerging market threats to executive leadership, providing strategic recommendations to support high-level decision-making. Facilitate cross-functional scenario planning sessions, anticipating competitive behaviors and formulating strategies to address potential risks.
Market Modeling & Forecasting:
Lead the design, implementation, and management of advanced market models that project trends, market size, growth opportunities, and customer segments. Integrate multiple data sources to create accurate market simulations, scenario analyses, and predictive models.
Executive-Level Reporting & Presentation:
Prepare and present clear, data-driven reports and dashboards to leadership, offering actionable insights and strategic guidance. Translate complex data into accessible visualizations and presentations for senior executives. Respond promptly to leadership inquiries regarding competitive behavior or market shifts.
Global Market and Pricing Data Leadership:
Act as the global market and pricing data lead, overseeing data acquisition, governance, and management within the marketing organization. Ensure data collection from reputable sources, standardization, and structure for effective global analysis and decision-making. Implement robust data governance practices to maintain data integrity, accuracy, and security across regions and business units. Manage a central repository for global market and pricing data, facilitating easy access for internal stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with marketing, strategy, and sales teams to align CI insights and market models with business objectives. Foster cross-departmental communication to provide a comprehensive view of the competitive landscape.
Market Research & Analysis:
Lead primary and secondary research efforts to gather data on competitors, customers, and market conditions. Analyze industry trends, including market entry, M&A activity, innovation strategies, and regulatory changes impacting the business. Communicate emerging risks and opportunities effectively, staying ahead of industry shifts.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field. 8+ years in competitive intelligence, market analysis, forecasting, or related fields. Demonstrated experience in competitive analysis, market modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning; expertise in data governance, data management, and data integrity with a global perspective. Familiarity with CI tools and databases. Proficiency in market modeling, strong business acumen, and the ability to connect competitive insights with strategic initiatives. Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the capability to influence senior leadership. Advanced analytical abilities, including expertise in data visualization, market simulation tools, and statistical analysis. Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions that align with organizational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
