Your Day-to-Day:
Westinghouse is looking for a Mechanical Engineer II to be responsible for project engineering for Facility Engineering. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer on the Facility Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to:
Resolve technical issues for Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) and support the execution of capital and expense projects. Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers in the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems using engineering software. Apply engineering principles and engineering codes & standards, such as ASME and ANSI, to the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems. Develop calculations and reports to document design and analysis results in accordance with ASME Section VIII, IX, and X code requirements, API, other international codes, and facility standards and specifications. Conduct field walkdowns and construction oversight services. Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and startup/commissioning services for equipment and systems. Apply procurement engineering and part optimization techniques to engineering projects. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on existing equipment. Interface with engineers in other disciplines such as electrical/I&C and civil/structural. Participate on project teams with internal and/or external representation. Participate in customer and vendor meetings to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs. Perform work within established scope, budgetary, and schedule requirements. Occasionally assist with emergent issues and/or after-hours calls.Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering. A minimum of 5-12 years of related experience. EIT/FE Familiarity with the power industry, manufacturing, or chemical plant. Familiarity with instrumentation & controls and automation systems is a plus. Able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point). Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3 criteria Ability to demonstrate technical leadership. Ability to interpret and understand applicable NRC and OSHA standards and regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Proficiency on other languages is a plus. Highly motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop. Accuracy, thoroughness, timeliness, and strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently or on a team with diverse backgrounds and experiences
