Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts and provide technical direction at the platform and system level. You will be involved with the design, fabrication, and modification of mechanical and electromechanical components, subsystems, and systems. This includes mechanical analysis, thermal, fluid systems, and mechanical packaging. Your role will involve evaluating and recommending design approaches to meet production and customer requirements for new or improved products or services. You will also investigate solutions to product or process problems. Your immediate focus will be on a system that powers and cools a high-power radar array, integrating the subsystems and packaging/delivering the system to the field.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems based on customer specifications and requirementsLead and drive development teams from design through assemblySpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and servicesParticipate heavily in the preparation of more complex and significant proposalsOrganize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and budget for internal and external stakeholdersComplete technical projects independentlyBuild trust and form solid relationships with different stakeholders (customers, internal departments, vendors)Mentor and coach other engineersEssential SkillsExperience designing high power systems from a mechanical perspective, including liquid cooling systems and heat transferSolid knowledge of 3D CAD systems such as SolidWorksUnderstanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/designAbility to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projectsManagement or demonstrated leadership experienceExperience leading and participating in meetings to discuss project execution, schedules, technical performance, and providing recommendations for improvementsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experienceActive security clearance, or the ability to obtain clearanceAbility to work well in a fast-paced team environmentAbility to coach, mentor, and build relationships internally and externallyWork Environment

Collaborative environment with multiple engineering disciplines including Software, Hardware, Mechanical, and Manufacturing. The team consists of approximately 100 people and is aggressively growing. They operate on a 9/80 schedule. The group specifically includes 1 Manufacturing Engineer and 2 Test Engineers.
