We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to develop solutions to complex technical problems using expert-level engineering and scientific principles. This role focuses on the conceptual development from requirements through design and implementation in support of IT and Operations partners. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in planning, designing, and building functions and tooling automation across both Wireline and Mobility transport networks.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Develop solutions to technical problems with complex scope using expert-level engineering and scientific principles related to AT&T Network Evolution and core directives.
+ Focus on conceptual development, from requirements through design and implementation, in support of IT and Operations partners.
+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in planning, design, and building functions and tooling automation across Wireline and Mobility transport networks.
+ Apply engineering principles and practices in broad areas of complex technical project work that require in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise.
+ Focus on network design, inventory management, and link planning across newer network technologies like Open ROADM, Circuit Emulation, P/X Leaf's, etc.
+ Perform open-source development, scripting, and microservices to increase operational efficiencies via automation in support of transport planning automation, inventory management, and ticketing.
**Specific Skills Required** :
+ Advanced knowledge and experience with network design, inventory management, and link planning.
+ Expertise in newer network technologies such as Open ROADM, Circuit Emulation, P/X Leaf's, etc.
+ Proficiency in open-source development, scripting, and microservices.
+ Strong understanding of automation to increase operational efficiencies in transport planning, inventory, and ticketing.
+ Familiarity with Granite, CANOPI, TIRKS, PED, ServiceNow Inventory, and RPA/Automation Anywhere.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Proven track record of developing solutions for complex technical problems.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with IT and Operations partners.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
**Experience/Education:**
+ PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Our Principal Member of Technical Staff, earns between $180,200.00 - $270,400.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
