Our team builds and maintains the next generation of OCI Data Services. We seek a hands-on engineer leader with expertise and passion for solving challenging problems in large-scale distributed systems. These are exciting times, and our team is undergoing rapid growth while working on many new ambitious initiatives. 8+ years of software development experience, with a strong foundation in Computer Science. You are experienced at building highly available services and possess knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. You are proficient in Java programming and Python scripting. You have prior experience working on distributed systems and experience with Docker and Kubernetes. You have prior experience working with message brokering systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ. You have hands-on experience performing DevOps functions (build, deploy, monitor, etc.) using relevant tools, preferably in a Cloud environment. You have experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise. You feel at home communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations) You are familiar with components of modern infrastructure, such as service discovery, secret storage, software-defined networking, and containers.
