Job Summary:

As a Principal Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis Engineer, you will participate in multi-disciplinary work across integrated product teams consisting of Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing and missile-and-sensor-level Performance Simulations. Our Performance Simulation teams provide, develop, and maintain high fidelity performance simulations, evaluate system performance, support new business initiatives and develop & execute technology roadmaps.

This is an Onsite role in Tucson, Arizona

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

You will create high fidelity simulations and models for missile design, performance assessment, and flight testsYou will be responsible for the development and implementation of modeling solutions, and subsequently conduct trade studies and evaluation of system and subsystem performanceYou will work in a team environment, receiving inputs from the team supervisors and providing guidance and/or direction to other team membersYou will collaborate with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, and other performance personnel to perform simulation activities according to the program scheduleYou will work on diverse projects, determine, and develop approaches and solutions, and provide development guidance throughout the product lifecycle from initial concept to fielded productYou will provide technical expertise for the simulation products of a specific program, and assist Senior Modeling Engineers in the preparation of detailed plans, and may interact with government counterparts as an authority on simulation products

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:Experience programming in C++, C, or other high order languageExperience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data setsExperience developing or simulating physical systemsAcademic or work experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis for existing or proposed engineering solutionsTwo (2) years of experience managing others and interacting with other engineering disciplinesThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degreeExperience managing others using applied system engineering principals and interfacing with multiple engineering disciplinesExperience developing signal processing / GNC algorithms or models for missile applicationsExperience with Control Hardware Design and TestExperience modeling physics and physical systems as related to flight dynamicsExperience using Software Configuration Management toolsCourse work or experience in some of the following fields: radar, signal & image processing, digital communications, probability and statistics, linear algebra,  estimation theory, optimal control, system architecture, inertial navigation, guidance theoryExperience with radar and/or EO/IR environment modelsExperience using UNIX/Linux based workstationsExperience with hardware/software integrationExperience developing and presenting technical briefingsExperience working on a team and by yourselfCurrent/Active DoD security clearance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
