Principal MRB Engineer - GE

A remote Principal MRB Engineer is needed to support the needs and goals of manufacturing teams with engineering substantiation reviews to determine the acceptability of aircraft engine hardware. Ideal candidate will have significant experience substantiating nonconformances that arise from the manufacturing process. Prior ENG MRB certification, from General Electric, is required within the last 5 years due to recertification requirements. Once recertified, Principal MRB engineer will review MRB tickets for rejection or acceptability and provide an appropriate signature. Principal MRB engineer will also evaluate and mentor junior engineers to increase technical knowledge and increase efficiency and effectiveness in the project.
Job Duties:
* Mentor and develop Junior Engineers who are evaluating manufacturing nonconformances to determine acceptability of parts.
* Mentor and develop Junior Engineers who perform analysis to document acceptability of parts to include stress calculations, tolerance stack ups, and leveraging of previous analysis.
* Mentor and develop Junior Engineers who review repairs to determine post repair acceptability to meet drawing requirements and mission requirements.
* Communicate with cross-function engineering teams (internally and externally) to meet directives.
Required Qualifications:
* Required: Prior Material Review Board (MRB) certification from major aerospace company producing gas turbine engines.
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field required.
* Experience with manufacturing processes a plus including but not limited thermal spray coatings, castings, FPI, shot peen, milling & turning.
* Familiarity with hand calculations for stress.
* Familiarity with FEA software, ANSYS, is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Ability to read and interpret GD&T requirements to include but not limited to true position, run outs, profiles, and flatness.
* Ability to work well with a team to meet goals.
* Ability to mentor and develop Junior Engineers.
* Effective communication to fellow team members and customers as necessary.
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $100,000 to $145,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
