Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Principal Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Essential Functions:
Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.Executing engineering projects on schedule.Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.Implement engineering changes to the system as requiredResponsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems.Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Network Engineer:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.Experience in or knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as PythonExperience with deploying, configuring, and hardening Network DevicesExperience with Linux Operating SystemsExperience with Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation operating systemsExperience with Solaris 10 and 11 operating systemsWorking knowledge of routing & switching concepts and protocolsFamiliarity with network simulation tools and load testing (e.g. CML, GNS3)Active DoD Top Secret ClearanceAbility to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
