HOW A PRINCIPAL NEWS EDITOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Native-level Arabic and English fluency is required.

Knowledge of the Middle East and global affairs is required.

Must be proficient in the nuances of required languages including grammar and journalism editing standards.

May serve as assignment editor.

Other tasks include researching local and regional media in the region, identifying coverage angles, coordinating translations, updating associated social media platforms, assisting in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, and technical tasks utilizing locally developed tools associated with internet-based publications. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Master’s Degree; relevant education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Experience: 8+ years of experience required

Security clearance level: The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Skills and abilities: Journalism experience, including experience writing or editing for internet-based or print news publications is highly preferred
