If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, Nuclear Fuel Engineering is looking for an experienced Nuclear Engineer to join the BWR Nuclear Design team.
Your Day-to-Day:
Perform standard and non-standard reload analysis work for US and international customers, following and understanding approved methodologies, procedures, and internal processes while maintaining focus on nuclear safety and quality to produce error free work. Responsibilities include the development and optimization of safe, economic bundle and core designs, development of effective cycle operation techniques and simulation of transient events for establishing reactor operating limits. Lead and perform engineering design and analyses and propose solutions to complex problems that are not well defined. Directly support project management in identifying technical and programmatic requirements. Collect and update project inputs such as scope, schedule, and cost. Ascertain project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Coordinate and integrate complex technical projects that encompass multi-functional areas; successfully achieve established budget and schedule requirements. Interface with customers and multi-functional project teams acting as an expert knowledge resource in both the specific area of nuclear design as well as the overarching design and implementation process. Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related business products. Mentor, teach, and coach other engineers in technical concepts and professional development.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support development and implementation of new methods and processes for implementing technical requirements. Coordinate and/or prepare technical documents for associated licensing approvals and provide expertise and consultation to technical panels, reviews, committees, regulators, customers, and partners on various Nuclear Design related topics. Support and provide technical leadership for special projects such as developing new fuel designs and operating strategies, improving modeling and analysis techniques, implementing calculation automation, and supporting solutions to emergent customer issues.
