Principal Process Design Engineer
MAU is hiring a Principal Process Design Engineer for Fluor Nuclear Power in Greenville, SC. As a Principal Process Design Engineer, you will provide essential administrative processes, technical expertise, and leadership. This position oversees a specific project area and serves as a representative of the engineering discipline, ensuring technical accuracy throughout all phases of project execution. This role functions as a lead on assigned projects, handling engineering assignments of advanced complexity. This is a contract, long-term assignment.

Benefits Package 401k Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Short term disability Long term disability Paid time off Health savings account Shift Information Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Nuclear Engineering Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience General Requirements In-depth knowledge of applicable federal regulations (including Department of Energy orders) and state and local codes and standards Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences, including project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors Strong technical knowledge required to successfully complete job responsibilities Advanced understanding of discipline-specific codes and standards Ability to perform work in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes, statutes, and guidelines Detail-oriented, able to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints Preferred requirements Professional Engineer License Experience in designing systems, structures, and components for nuclear facilities following ASME NQA-1 standards Advanced knowledge of commercial material availability and cost analysis Proven ability to manage and lead large-scale projects effectively Proficient in project setup, development of control-level schedules, progress reporting, and project closeout Practical field experience across various projects EPC project experience within the following industries: U.S. Department of Energy, other U.S. federal government agencies, nuclear facilities adhering to nuclear quality assurance programs, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs Essential Functions Under the general supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer, serve as a Supervising Lead, providing guidance and oversight to engineers and designers Analyze and make independent recommendations for technical solutions to complex problems in alignment with project requirements Develop and review specifications and design criteria Perform and verify engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment, and systems; and resolve advanced technical issues Coordinate technical matters with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients Ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan and established procedures Execute work following the approved project scope, cost, and schedule baselines Develop and review estimates, schedules, and progress reports, including effort-hour estimates and staff forecasts Establish, monitor, and report on key material quantities, providing analysis and forecasts Offer technical support for equipment and material procurement activities, including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations, and vendor submittal reviews Provide technical assistance for construction administration tasks, including responses to requests for information and field changes Perform other duties as assigned MAU does not offer any sponsorship assistance for this role.
