As a Principal Engineer, Process Design, you’ll be at the forefront of engineering innovation, driving the development of multi-scale
separation technologies across our pilot, demonstration, and commercial plants.
You’ll collaborate with a dynamic team of scientists, engineers, and operations experts to create sustainable solutions that make a real impact.
What You’ll Do:Lead and Innovate: Supervise technology development and engineering design for downstream separation applications involving chemical and fuel product recovery.Design and Develop: Spearhead process synthesis, simulation, scale-up design, equipment selection, and process economics for downstream separation applications.Collaborate and Support: Work closely with R&D teams to develop new separation technologies and oversee full engineering package development.Analyze and Present: Perform data analysis and present findings in both oral and written formats.Manage Projects: Ensure projects are completed within cost, time, quality, and safety constraints.Ensure Compliance: Adhere to engineering design standards and environmental, health, and safety regulations.What You Bring:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.Experience: 15 years of industrial experience in process design and development within industries such as petroleum refining, petrochemical processing, chemical processing, renewable energy, or bio-energy.Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation modeling software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and industrial standards.Knowledge: Familiarity with yield estimates, FEL studies, FEED studies, and process economics.Safety Commitment: Strong knowledge and commitment to personal and process safety protocols.Team Spirit: Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a proactive attitude and eagerness to share knowledge.Bonus Points:Master’s degree or PhDLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)Experience in technology development or EPC companiesOperational experience with large-scale production plantsWhy Join Us?Competitive Salary: $150,000 - $180,000Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance with 100% coverage of employee premiums.Work-Life Balance: Flexible and generous paid time off, including national holidays and sick leave.Future Planning: Tax-deferred 401(k) Plan.Family Support: Paid Family Leave and Employee Wellness Program.Community and Culture: Sponsored company events, DEI social initiatives, and Friday catered meals.About Actalent
