Purpose\:

We are seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead the Process Engineering team. You will provide process engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and mentorship to others within the process engineering team. You will be responsible for overall supervision of the Process Engineering team. You will bring natural gas processing, oil refining and/or chemical industry experience to specifically support Worley’s clients in the US West Region.

Act as the Process Engineering Department Manager.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to\:

Personnel Responsibilities

Be an example of safe work habits at work and home. Assess and improve technical competence of Process Engineering personnel. Hire capable Process Engineers and assist in their introduction to Worley and their new coworkers. Perform annual performance reviews using Worley systems and provide feedback to employees. Be an official mentor to staff as assigned. Be an informal mentor to all Process Engineering staff. Perform annual salary assessments and communicate the results to employees. Promote career development within the process department. Identify subject matter experts and contribute to the Worley global system of posting their capabilities.

Project Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Project Management Team and forecast requirements for Process Engineering resources. Assign Process Engineering staff appropriately for project needs. Ensure Process Engineering commitments are met throughout the department. Promote inter-discipline communication and cooperation and resolve interface issues that arise. Prepare, or assign and review, Process Engineering staffing estimates for project tasks. Promote use of world-wide Global Integrated Delivery (GID) of Process Engineering in India and Bogota, Columbia. Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives. Check compliance with Worley quality assurance/safety/sustainability standards. Ensure department cost and schedule promises are kept during project as studies and projects are executed.

Relationship Development and Communication Responsibilities

Develop strong relationships with Denver department managers, North American Process Engineering department managers, and GID counterparts. Participate in Global Engineering Team initiatives. Attend global Process Engineering Managers meetings and regularly contribute to the conversation. Promote the Worley culture and communication development within the Process Engineering department.

Engineering Capabilities

Capable of working on engineering studies or project production including leading a Process Engineering team. P&ID development on complex projects. Coaching and mentoring on process and other engineering staff in the Denver office. Understand and follow Worley Management System requirements. Become immersed in Worley project history and capabilities and market them to clients both directly and through presentations. Understand Worley work process maps to anticipate process engineering activities during near-term project execution to assist lead engineers and assigned projects. Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to achieving corporate delivery and execution requirements. Experience with Flow Assurance. Ability to utilize OLGA for various studies. Ability to conduct pipeline hydraulics and line sizing. *

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements\: 

15 years of demonstrated Process Engineering experience executing projects in the oil and natural gas or chemical industries. Demonstrated capability as a Process Engineering lead for multiple simultaneous projects. Comfortable and capable of using soft skills to address personnel needs and challenges. Substantial experience of working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams. Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers. Ability to provide leadership within mechanical engineer in addition to Process is preferred. A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of Process Engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields. A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements. Competent use of Process Engineering specific software. AspenTech products (HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, etc.) Honeywell Unisim products BRE ProMax Hydraulic modeling software Other internal and external calculation tools and software Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training\:

 Required\:

Bachelors or Master’s degree from an ABET accredited university or college in Chemical Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) status in Colorado and California 

Preferred\:

Demonstrated experience executing projects in oil refinery process units including working with technology providers.

Additional info\:

This position will be based in the Englewood/ Denver, CO area. Salary\: $145,384-$213,800 annually commensurate with experience. Benefits\: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
