Principal Product Manager, Store Health and Hardware (Hybrid - Seattle)
Job Description

As a Principal Product Manager in Stores, you’ll ensure our current state store operations are efficient and easy, while articulating and activating a future strategy that balances customer and employee experiences alongside operational efficiency. Your daily decisions will consider devices while also accounting for software, processes, and the store’s overall physical environment.   

 

You’ll think strategically and be at ease communicating with everyone from executives to other product managers. You will lead a hardware engineering team and work across store and cross-divisional teams to ensure complex solutions achieve the desired outcomes. The scope includes lofty, long-term thinking and very near term, tactical process optimization. 

 

You'll navigate between design, business, analytics, and engineering mindsets, align teams, and create clarity in ambiguous situations. You'll write detailed requirements, manage expectations, and thrive in imperfect conditions. Looking for strategic thinkers who like to jump right in to solve big problems and provide value.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Product strategy and vision: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with business goals. Partner across the company to evangelize and activate.  

 

Roadmap Development: Drive clarity and alignment within your domain – including new functionality, lifecycle management, device refreshes – as well as influence multiple product roadmaps end-to-end, from ideation, research, experimentation, and go-to-market. Effectively prioritize work to drive results and maximize impact. 

 

Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance metrics to measure the success of hardware products and inform future product decisions. Align on specific, objective criteria to continuously determine value via data. 

 

Employee Focus: Gather and analyze employee feedback to continuously improve and ensure devices meet the needs of our employees.  

 

Product leadership: Coach and contribute to the development of other store product managers and product teams. Encourage a culture that drives impactful change.  

 

Stakeholder management: Manage prioritization, tradeoffs, and cross-functional communication across multiple organizations to ensure alignment on strategy, outcomes, and delivery. 

 

Innovation: Change the existing approach for hardware and devices. Conduct competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the store hardware space. Proactively identify opportunities to improve business results and competitive position. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in hardware technology and identify opportunities that align with Store needs. Pioneer new, impactful collaboration with business and technology for responsive support for transformative product deliveries. 

 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

8+ years of product management experience 

Skill in driving tradeoff and prioritization decisions, defining strategic vision, and end-to-end product delivery in an agile development environment 

Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams 

Experience leading cross-organizational programs and setting and holding teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority 

Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product 

Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

10+ years of product management experience, including store and hardware specific experience 

Experience in physical retail, device management, industrial design, or internal employee tools. 

Advanced degree in industrial design, business, engineering with a proven background in articulating business cases and evaluating financial impact 

At some point in your life, you’ve worked in a physical retail store

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $162,000 - $297,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
