Responsible for the enterprise data transformation by driving the strategy, development, and implementation of data products and a common data platform across our portfolio of restaurant brands. Regularly meets with senior leadership to present and discuss product concepts, roadmaps, and business reviews. Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, financial planning and analysis, supply chain and IT), technology partners, and key stakeholders to ensure the successful development and ongoing enhancement of this critical capability. Helps build a data organization with data science discipline, and introducing AI/ML capabilities.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads data transformation across the organization, defining and building clean and comprehensive data sets, storage and access approaches.
Develops and communicates a clear vision and roadmap for data transformation and data products aligned with the company's overall strategy. Influences how the organization thinks about data.
Builds, leads, and mentors the data product and data science functions.
Fosters a collaborative environment, promoting effective communication and coordination among various internal and external teams involved in the project. Works closely with, and ensures representation of, all relevant stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
Supports the strategic initiative by making key data easily available to stakeholders in support of business objectives.
Leads the end-to-end product management of the data platform including planning, execution, and monitoring of timelines and milestones.
Identifies opportunities for, and manages, the application of ML/AI for predictive outputs.
Collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to understand inefficiencies, suggest improvements, ensure seamless development, deployment, and operations of the data platform.
Manages feature definition and produces user stories. Collaborates with enterprise data tech leads to refine stories to developer ready status.
Guides the product team through the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to development, beta, launch, and sustaining, ensuring that product milestones align with stakeholder and strategic goals.
Authors and maintains prioritized backlogs for internal development squads.
Actively communicates priorities and timelines to the enterprise data team and stakeholders.
Establishes SLAs/SLOs, and observability requirements for data and reporting.
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Marketing, Business or related field.
Experience: 10+ years in Product Management and 5+ years building and leading teams with data science and data engineering capabilities. Experience leading and managing large scale data transformation. Experience managing the application of ML/AI for predictive outputs in the QSR or b2c ecommerce space.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Strong product management skills with a track record of delivering complex technology initiatives on time and within budget.
Understands and can simply communicate data transformation and modern data concepts with stakeholders and engineering.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, relational databases, and SQL, with the ability to work with engineering to optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability.
Proven track record of building data integration products from diverse sources , ensuring data quality and consistency across the organization.
Familiarity with API integrations, data connectors, and data platforms to streamline data ingestion and synchronization processes.
Experience implementing self-serve analytical , automated reporting and dashboarding solutions using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight etc.) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) to extract insights from data.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, with the ability to collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop and deploy AI-driven features and models.
Familiarity with AWS tools for data: Sagemaker, Amazon Forecast, Redshift
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Strong background in authoring PRDs, user stories, creating roadmaps, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in utilizing data to inform product enhancements and prioritization.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and a track record of successful product delivery.
Demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements: Ability to hear/speak clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $150,700 - $214,700 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
