Responsibilities

Applies expert knowledge of our integrated services and solutions, as well as commercial acumen to create and lead complex proposal and partnership deliverables from initiation to delivery, across text, slides, and spreadsheet formats. Understands, recommends, and incorporates latest and focused evidence in the proposal showcasing capability and experience.Collaborates with key executive, scientific, operational, and commercial stakeholders to gather input, develop a persuasive storyboard for proposal development, and deliver high-quality, complex proposal deliverables that leverage data and technical information to meet client needs/requirements.Identifies and leads efforts to address training/skill gaps and opportunities: visible leader that proactively shares knowledge, mentors and supports other proposal management team members.Serves as backup to line manager/proposals team lead by regularly performing peer reviews, triage/allocations, escalations/problem solving, and support for other proposal management staff as needed.Proactively identifies areas for process/tool improvement and actively contributes to improvement initiatives.Regularly participates in cross-functional/cross-business unit leadership initiatives critical to the success of the Strategic Proposal Development team and serves as a change champion for new processes and initiatives.Contributes to ongoing development and maintenance of library content.Conducts quality control checks for own work and peers; sets a high standard for quality on the team. Scope and Complexity:Can successfully lead any proposal request regardless of business unit/practice area.Efficiently creates bespoke, persuasive proposal deliverables that convey commercially compelling solutions to support ongoing and complex business development engagements, at a faster and more advanced level than more junior proposal managers.Primarily focuses on strategic opportunities, partnerships, and complex non-standard requests that may not follow standard processes, requiring agility, creativity, collaboration, and significant executive engagement.Develops creative and compelling content and graphics to address new solutions/services.Represents the proposal manager and/or Strategic Proposal Development team on the highest visibility cross-functional/cross-business unit initiatives. Knowledge and Skill Expectations:Expert in the proposal, drug development and commercialization process that can serve as a resource to the wider team. Consistently engages to stay abreast of CRG’s offerings and wider Thermo Fisher solutions.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with and develop positive long-term relationships with stakeholders, including most senior executives.Ability to train/mentor other proposal managers at all levels.Superior project management skills with strong attention to detail that can consistently and efficiently deliver complex, quality, on-time proposals while balancing multiple priorities.Advanced ability to independently develop compelling text graphics/slides creatively and efficiently.Critical and strategic thinker to creatively translate and distill complex technical information into client-friendly proposals and provide meaningful feedback as a peer reviewer. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills to efficiently handle the rapid pace of proposal development and escalate/resolve any issues that may arise.

Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, advanced degree preferred10+ years’ directly relevant experience with at least two of the following:  clinical research industry role with writing responsibilities proposals in a life sciences or technical field experience in a commercial setting scientific writing
