Job Purpose/Objective

To design and conduct clinical studies supporting research and development projects involving contact lens, lens care, and eye care products.

 

Key Activities/Responsibilities

Design and execute clinical studies. Analyze and interpret clinical study data, communicate results to cross-functional R&D teams, and write technical reports. Interface with R&D technical teams on project needs, interpret voice of customer data and the end product requirements.

 

Specific Job Duties

Design and conduct clinical studies in support of developmental of core research projects, process validations, cost improvement efforts, and marketing assistance/competitive analyses. Conduct studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines and ethical standards. Keep subject safety at the highest priority. Develop and write documents required for clinical studies, including protocols and reports. Conduct statistical analysis of study data and interpret results. Assist in preparing regulatory documents and IRB application materials. Represent clinical on cross-functional R&D project teams; provide directional feedback. Support global operations regarding technical inquiries. Keep current on existing technologies, competitive products, new techniques, Bausch + Lomb Standard Operating Procedures and Good Clinical Practice. Business Impact: Expectations of significant contributions to the introduction of several new products, processes, or applications resulting in significant cumulative increased sales, savings or value.

 

Qualifications/Experience

• Education: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree required.

• Active Optometry license in New York State or ability to become licensed.

• Experience: 0-2 years' of clinical research experience.

• Special Skills: Clinical study design, clinical research and statistical analysis, excellent verbal and writing skills.

• Specialized Training: Contact lens residency preferred, or post-graduate degree (MS/PhD) preferred.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $112,500 to $172,500.
