As the Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer at Honeywell UOP, you will be the technical lead for the Rotating Equipment team within the Modular Equipment/project execution team.

You will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Rotating Equipment, and will work out of our Rosemont, Illinois location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of each project. Your strategic decision-making, leadership skills, and ability to drive results will be instrumental in shaping the future success of the organization.

\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES \n\nProvide sales support to review customer specifications and provide cost estimates for rotating equipment\nProvide hours estimates for numerous project engagements from sales support, proposals, FastFEEDs and full project executions from RFQ to delivery\nGenerate requisitions for various types of rotating equipment such as hot centrifugal fans and blowers, pumps, and compressors, incorporating customer requirements to produce a complete technical definition of the equipment\nPerform technical bid evaluations and participate in the supplier selection process with procurement\nWork closely with all members of the project team including quality assurance, piping, instrumentation, electrical, process, structural designers, procurement, and project managers to meet project requirements for rotating equipment.\nCoordinate with suppliers throughout the fabrication phase of the project\nLead and maintain key relationships with vendors/suppliers\nVisit shops for vendor qualification, kickoff meetings, critical inspections, and performance tests\nStay current with applicable API standards for pumps and compressors\nReview supplier designs against licensor, API and customer requirements\nDevelop and maintain Honeywell UOP specifications and infrastructure (tools, manuals, etc)\nCoordinate with UOP’s Schedule A (basic engineering package) arm to drive alignment in scope of supply and equipment standards.\nTrain and develop other engineers within the department.\nTroubleshoot and resolve field issues\n\n

The annual base salary range for this position is . Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. This position is incentive plan eligible.

YOU MUST HAVE\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics\n15+ years of Rotating Equipment experience (design, application, operations, or maintenance)\nExperience and knowledge of API standards related to rotating equipment API: 610, 611, 612, 613, 614, 617, 618, 619, 670, 671, 672, 673, 674, 675, 676, 682, 685, 692, etc\nHands-on experience with pumps, compressors, lube oil systems, and seals\nExperience in the specification and procurement of rotating equipment, including their auxiliary support systems\nAbility to communicate well with suppliers in both written and verbal communication\nAbility to work well in a team environment and provide proper updates to Project managers, Project Engineers, and Procurement on the status of requisitions and document reviews\nCapable of multi-tasking to maintain contributions for several projects simultaneously and on schedule\nOrganizational skills must include a disciplined approach to maintaining project files for team use and good documentation of correspondence and issue resolution\nGood working knowledge and use of the following software applications: Adobe Acrobat Standard, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint)\n\nWE VALUE\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution is required\nMaster's degree in Engineering or a related field\nDemonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team\nAbility to communicate effectively across language and cultural barriers\nExperience in technical writing and preparation of proposals\nProven ability to drive results and achieve targets\nExperience with High-Temperature Centrifugal Fans / Blowers is a plus\nExperience in an equipment manufacturing environment or operating plant is a plus\n\nABOUT HONEYWELL\n
