Principal Safety Officer - Risk Management

The Safety Manager for Providence Medical Group, Clinical Programs, Specialty, and On-Demand Services is responsible for implementing programs to ensure an environment that is safe for caregivers, patients and visitors.  As a Safety Program Manager, this position collaborates with leadership of the medical group, department core leaders, and caregivers to ensure work place safety and compliance with rules, regulations, and standards related to the applicable regulatory agencies.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree - Science discipline; Environmental Health, Safety, or Health Science focus or equivalent educ/experience.  Master's Degree.  Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) upon hire.  5 years - Progressive experience in healthcare setting safety program administration/management AND implementation, to include safety, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance functions in a complex environment. Experience in managing some or all of the standards in The Joint Commission Environment of Care chapter in the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals (CAMH). Additional experience in Long Term Care, Behavioral Health and/or Ambulatory Care. Experience in management of waste streams generated by ambulatory and non-ambulatory healthcare facilities.
