Growing together.** We are looking for a Principal Salesforce Engineer who will be instrumental in shaping our Salesforce ecosystem. Your role will extend beyond technical expertise, including mentorship, strategic leadership, and significant contributions to evolving our Salesforce engineering practices. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Strategic Architecture Leadership + Establish and drive the overall architecture vision for the retrieval domain, making high-level decisions that ensure scalability, maintainability, and reliability and support the long-term business growth and sustainable business competencies + Technical Excellence and Innovation + Lead system analysis, design, and implementation within our retrieval domain, including salesforce and outside salesforce instances, spearheading innovative solutions that meet or exceed performance, security, and scalability requirements + Business and Technology Alignment + Translate the chart retrieval business vision into technical strategies, bridging the gap between business objectives and engineering implementation + Cross-functional Leadership and Communication + Lead technical design sessions and effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement + Data Model and Integration Expertise + Design and optimize data models to support long-term business vision, ensuring seamless integration between Salesforce and other critical systems + Quality and Best Practices Advocacy + Establish and enforce coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices, championing the use of appropriate design patterns and principles + Continuous Improvement and Innovation + Proactively identify and implement long-term improvements, staying abreast of emerging technologies and driving adoption of beneficial innovations + Mentorship and Team Development + Provide technical mentorship to the engineering team, contributing to their professional development and actively participating in hiring processes + Stakeholder Management + Collaborate closely with cross-functional business and engineering leaders to optimize architecture, ensure timely delivery, and align with organizational goals You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. **Required Qualifications:** + 7+ years of direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management + 5+ years of experience in a lead role in the technology space + Proven deep understanding of how to leverage Salesforce's different capabilities + Proven good knowledge of AWS + Demonstrated solid hands-on coding skills and the ability to embrace Domain-Driven Design + Experience with SFDX DevOps Tools such as GitHub Actions and SFDX CLI + Proven solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and the SOLID principles **Preferred Qualifications:** + Salesforce Application Architect (Platform Developer I or Platform Developer II preferred) *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. **California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only:** The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
