HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT Responsible for carrying out and reporting on tests and experiments in support of Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing and the development of new processes and products. Provides technical support to Sales on system and equipment capabilities. Provides in-depth process know-how and support to customers. Uses in-depth knowledge of our equipment and processes to help identify improvements to our capabilities and find new opportunities. Reports to Process Development Manager. Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • Carry out all parts of sample coatings from technical planning with the customer through final reporting • Work with Manufacturing and Engineering groups supplying technical knowledge and an understanding of specific customer requirements to ensure smooth Customer Acceptance Testing and reporting • Assist customers and the Customer Service group through direct discussion, phone calls, electronic communication, and customer site visits to assist with process development and/or troubleshooting as needed and appropriate. • Work in a team environment with engineering in the application of project results to commercialized processes and equipment. • Stay abreast of relevant developments in the industry to aid in steering the technical direction of new designs as well as to help the company make improvements to its products or processes through its research and development efforts. • Possesses sound problem-solving skills, i.e., the ability to assess a technical situation, evaluate the information available for applicability and completeness, and draw reasonable conclusions as to the course going forward. • Self-motivated team player who supplies technical support to other groups where needed and actively seeks support when needed to complete goals. • Other duties as required. Duties may change without notice at management’s sole discretion WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL • Bachelor of Science with 8+ years of experience in thin film deposition equipment. PREFERRED SKILLS: • Master of Science or Ph.D. in Physics, Material Science Engineering, Process Engineering, or a similar field with 4-8 years of experience.
